Are You an Alice or an Elizabeth?
When I named this brand Alice & Elizabeth, it wasn’t strategic.
It was personal.
Alice and Elizabeth are my grandmothers — two women who shaped my childhood, my values, and the way I understand style, hospitality, and presence. They are alike in the ways that truly matter: they love their families deeply, they love their church, and they carry a quiet strength that comes from living full, grounded lives.
But the way they move through the world — and the way they dress — is beautifully different.
Alice is Southern through and through.
Growing up, her home was full of energy and freedom. We rode three-wheelers through her pasture, swam in her cow pond, and spent summer after summer at the nearby lake. There was a tree swing in her backyard when we were little — the kind where you could swing high enough to see cows and horses wander by. Her house was country in the best way — open, lively, joyful, and always welcoming.
Alice makes the chocolate pie we all crave. She loves her garden. She wears bold colors like yellow and orange and isn’t afraid of a strong pattern like cheetah. Her voice has that soft Southern cadence that makes you slow down and listen, and when she offers advice, it’s always humble, thoughtful, and kind. Somehow, you can never be upset with her — she has a way of grounding you without ever dimming your spirit.
Alice’s style is confident and expressive. She dresses with joy, personality, and ease — the kind that comes from knowing exactly who you are and being comfortable in it.
Elizabeth’s is grace in motion.
At her house, Easter egg hunts happened on the seventh fairway. Summer days were spent on the putting green, eating grilled cheese and tomato soup between rounds. We spent countless hours at my granddad’s golf course, watching Elizabeth and her friends gather in the ladies’ locker room, laughing softly as they counted scores and shared stories.
She moved through that space with such quiet confidence — organized, gracious, and always thinking about others. Even now, at 93, she continues to volunteer and serve, showing up with the same steady heart she’s always had.
Elizabeth’s style mirrors that rhythm of life. She gravitates toward softer colors — blues and pastels — and classic silhouettes that feel composed and timeless. Her outfits are polished but practical, refined without being flashy. She dresses with intention, making thoughtful choices that always feel just right.
Elizabeth’s presence is calm and steady. She has a kindness that makes you feel seen and welcomed, and a confidence that never needs to announce itself.
Where Alice is bold, Elizabeth is classic.
Where Alice leans expressive, Elizabeth leans refined.
But both are timeless.
That balance is the foundation of Alice & Elizabeth.
And somewhere in between those two women is my mom — who helps run this store every day. She is so much like her mother, Alice. She loves cheetah, gravitates toward yellow, and dresses in bold yet polished pieces that feel distinctly East Texas. Watching her style customers, merchandise the store, and show up with heart and personality reminds me daily that this brand is truly generational.
Our collections are designed with all of these women in mind — and the truth is, most of us are a little bit of each. Some days call for boldness, color, and confidence. Others call for softness, structure, and simplicity. Style isn’t about choosing one over the other — it’s about having pieces that support you in every season of life.
